Amazon to occupy KC area's largest-ever industrial spec

Posted online
Amazon.com plans to move in to an 822,000-square-foot distribution center in the Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton.

According to the Kansas City Business Journal, the building known as Inland Port XIV is the largest-ever industrial facility built on a speculative basis. It was developed by NorthPoint Development.

Signing on Amazon means the online retailer will hire 1,000 full-time hourly jobs, as well as management and support staff. The company currently operates a 267,000-square-foot fulfillment center at Lenexa Logistics Center, the business journal reported.
