Amazon to buy stake in hydrogen fuel cell maker

Amazon acquired the right to purchase up to 23 percent of hydrogen fuel cell maker Plug Power.

The deal would give the retailer powerful batteries that could speed up work in its warehouses.

Latham, New York-based Plug Power was valued at $319 million as of Tuesday's market close.
