Amazon reportedly planning to cut jobs at Whole Foods

Amazon is planning to reduce Whole Foods Market Inc.'s headcount when it completes its purchase of the retailer.

A person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg Amazon also plans to slash prices to make it more competitive with the likes of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Amazon announced Friday it would buy Whole Foods for $13.7 billion.
