Amazon is looking to break into the U.S. grocery business by exploring technology that could produce tasty prepared meals without refrigeration.
The online retailer has discussed selling ready-to-eat dishes as soon as next year, including beef stew and vegetable frittata. The dishes would be easy to stockpile and ship because they do not require refrigeration.
Delivering meals would add on to the AmazonFresh service, which has been delivering groceries to homes for the last decade.
