Amazon broke the internet with a typo

The incident that made some of the web inaccessible earlier this week happened because of a typo.

On Tuesday, the disrupted service of S3, part of Amazon Web Services, caused problems for thousands of websites and apps.

Amazon officials said yesterday an S3 employee accidentally removed a large set of servers when meaning to only take a small number offline. Amazon said it's working to fix the issue and that ""the tool used allowed too much capacity to be removed too quickly."
