Leadership Success

Raised by loving parents, I learned that integrity is everything, which shaped me into the leader I am today. I strive to lead with fairness, while maintaining an open-door policy with my team. My goal is always to react slowly and look at the global implications of the problems we face. By collaborating with timelines and structure, we can meet our desired goals together. Our team’s focus is always on the quality of care we provide.

Overcomer Moments

I joined Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Springfield as a therapist six years ago, later becoming the Business Development Director. When I moved to the role of CEO, I faced new challenges related to understanding compliance, State Regulations and the inner workings of our daily operations. Needless to say, I was on a fast track education to understanding the role. That year, we went through an entire leadership team. Some staff stayed to support the vision, but others weren’t ready. I had to restructure. Loyalty and integrity were always the pinnacle in building a team with a joined mission: to provide hope and transform lives! I am grateful to say I have that in our team today.
One early goal was creating an outdoor courtyard with a 12-foot fence for kids to play safely. This year, our dream is becoming a reality for our patients. It will provide a much-needed space to play and relieve the stress of the day.

A Legacy of Excellence

My mom, my biggest influence, always said, “Give 110% or don’t do it.” I could hear it on the soccer field in high school and even now. Her and my dad’s support have been invaluable in my mission to provide hope and transform lives in the course of my career. Balancing family and work is essential, and I lean on my support system to achieve that balance. The same is true for building the team I have. Those relationships getting built through servant leadership remains a priority.
My family’s encouragement pushed me toward excellence. In addition, so does knowing the community I get to serve. I do this by the Missouri Hospital Association conferences to learn about how we affect the state legislation. Through the Missouri Children’s Collaboration, I meet with the Children’s Division and people from all over Missouri to work together to find ways to stop children from falling through the cracks of the system. Finally, being able to I partner with The Greene County Children’s Trauma Collaborative where we seek solutions to ensure children don’t go without placements or homes by discussing once again what resources are available to our patients and their families.
My advice is become a subject matter expert in your craft. No matter your career, own it, hone your skills and try to know what you’re doing. Trying it the key. We all have a destined purpose. You never know where yours will lead.
