Alternative Opportunities Inc. retains Springfield License Office

Posted online
Springfield-based nonprofit Alternative Opportunities Inc. will continue to be the agent for the Springfield License Office in Room 252 of the Landers State Office Building Park Central Square.

The Poplar Bluff License Office has been awarded to a new agent, the Three Rivers Endowment Trust.

Both the Springfield and Poplar Bluff License Offices were awarded to AO in 2009 but were rebid due to incomplete information provided during the first round of bidding, according to a July 15 Missouri Department of Revenue news release.

Ten offices were awarded to the nonprofit in 2009 but were rebid when it was determined that the company's CFO Tom Goss was paid not by AO but by Tucson, Ariz.-based WD Management, according to Springfield Business Journal coverage. Bidders are not allowed to use subcontractors to provide primary services in the license offices.

The 10 offices were in Ava, Camdenton, Creve Coeur, Joplin, Nevada, Olivette, Poplar Bluff and Republic, along with two in Springfield. The Landers State Office Building license office marks the fourth office - along with Ava, Nevada and Joplin - to be re-awarded to AO, according to SBJ coverage.

AO's winning bid for the Springfield office included a 6 percent annual return, $13,690, to the state, and the Three Rivers Endowment Trust's bid included a 5 percent return, $12,590, according to the news release.[[In-content Ad]]
