Alltel has added digital wireless service in four southwest Missouri areas, according to a company announcement. With the additional sites, Alltel has activated a total of 12 new sites as part of a $25 million investment this year to expand and improve its services. The latest communities with digital service include:
Big Cedar Coverage is provided in and around the Big Cedar Resort.
Edmonson Digital coverage is provided on Highway 65 between Warsaw and Lincoln.
Houston Coverage for the community and side-calling capacity is implemented.
Taneyville Added coverage benefits the community and provides digital wireless service along Highway 76 between Forsyth and Bradleyville.
"Alltel is committed to getting it right for customers, and what they want is a reliable digital wireless network that's available where they travel, work, live and play," said Dan Phee, vice president and general manager for Alltel's wireline and wireless operations in Missouri.
Digital service features include improved call quality, coverage, connections, privacy, longer battery life and increased fraud protection. Other options include caller ID, voice mail and Alltel's Axcess data services wireless Internet, e-mail, text messaging, games, picture sharing and ringtones.
Alltel has more than 12 million customers and nearly $8 billion in annual revenues.
