HDA members will arrive at 10 a.m. at Galloway Station restaurant, 4211 S. Lone Pine. BOOTS is a free service for members of HDA, a nonprofit support organization for the hospitality industry.
“The BOOTS program is about lending a hand to independent restaurants during times of difficulty,” HDA co-founder Paul Witwer said in a news release. “(It) is a natural expansion of our efforts to help the American independent restaurant in what has become a very competitive environment.”
On Monday, HDA will assist Galloway Station owners Klaus and Emmi Greinke. Klaus is dealing with a recent health crisis, putting him out of commission, and there are repair and maintenance issues to be addressed at the restaurant, the release said. BOOTS puts people on the ground to help with upkeep, including painting, landscaping and light repairs.
A second BOOTS event is being planned to help clean up the Clarksville Station restaurant in Clarksville, where Mississippi River flooding has caused damage.
