The Alliance for Healthcare Education has named a director of operations, its second hire since the collaborative health care nonprofit brought on its executive director this spring.
Tina Pham-Morgan is scheduled to start in the role on Nov. 11, said Shallina Goodnight, the organization's executive director. Pham-Morgan joins the Alliance for Healthcare Education from the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, where she's worked since 2018, most recently as development director, according to her LinkedIn profile.
"Tina’s hire marks an exciting milestone as I have been the sole employee until now," Goodnight said via email. "She brings exceptional leadership experience from the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools and will play a pivotal role in advancing the alliance’s strategic goals."
Brought on as executive director in March, Goodnight said the Alliance for Healthcare Education is currently evaluating hiring plans. One is a student role focused on social media and marketing that would be brought on through Missouri State University's Leaders in Community Service program and the Efactory utilizing federal work-study funds, she said.
MSU is one of four original partners in the Alliance for Healthcare Education, along with CoxHealth, Ozarks Technical Community College and Springfield Public Schools, according to past reporting, and Evangel University this summer became the first affiliate partner of the alliance. The organization seeks to train health care professionals to serve the region and ultimately would replace Cox College.
The Alliance for Healthcare Education additionally is working on development plans at its Cox North campus. The organization was given the green light this summer for $15 million from the state budget to renovate space at Cox North – part of which hasn’t been used for decades – into educational and clinical spaces, according to past reporting.
Goodnight said the organization this week completed interviews and selected DeWitt & Associates Inc. to lead construction efforts. Paragon Architecture LLC is serving as project architect, she said.
"The project will transform an estimated 40,000 square feet of Cox North into an innovative clinical education space that integrates learning with real-work clinical environments," Goodnight said.
