Gov. Jay Nixon visited Allen Filtration LLC and the manufacturer announced 50 new jobs over the next five years and a $1 million capital investment.
Allen Filtration, which manufactures fluid management equipment to recycle dirty oil for clean use, is hiring for positions in advanced manufacturing and energy solutions, according to a news release.
Nixon was joined for a tour at the 3045 E. Elm St. plant by Springfield Mayor Bob Stephens and Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Matt Morrow, as well as company officials.
“Springfield provides our company with a large talent pool, low-cost climate and easy access to large global markets,” said Jerry Nichols, president and owner of parent company Allen Global LLC, in the release. “It makes sense to grow here where there’s a statewide commitment to growing the clean energy sector and where we’ve already found the tools for success.”
The state Department of Economic Development is offering the company incentives if it meets job creation and investment criteria. Details of the incentives were not disclosed.
While visiting Allen Filtration, Nixon touted statewide job growth in 2014, when he said Missouri employers added 44,700 positions, the highest annual job count since 1997.
“Allen Global’s decision to reinvest in Missouri further positions the Show-Me State as a top destination for clean energy companies and advanced manufacturers worldwide,” Nixon said in the release. “By working across the aisle to keep our fiscal discipline and make smart, strategic investments in education and infrastructure, we will continue to move Missouri’s economy forward.”[[In-content Ad]]
