Aldi penned a deal to buy around 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys supermarkets in the southern United States.
The proposed deal calls on Aldi to purchase all outstanding shares of Jacksonville, Florida-based Southeastern Grocers Inc., the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys.
The impacted stores largely are located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
