Aldi investing $3.4B into new stores

Discount grocery chain Aldi Inc. is planning to spend $3.4 billion on new stores.

Currently operating 1,600 stores in 35 U.S. states, the company wants 2,500 stores by the end of 2022.

The new store plan is on top of $1.6 billion in capital improvements to existing locations announced in February.
