Alaska Air to buy Virgin America for $2.6B

Alaska Air Group agreed to purchase Virgin America for $2.6 billion, the companies announced today.

Including debt and aircraft leases, the deal is valued at $4 billion.

The combined airline would have 1,200 daily departures and 280 aircraft, as well as hubs in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Anchorage, Alaska, and Portland, Ore.
