The live-action remake of "Aladdin" scored $112.7 million at the North American box office over the holiday weekend.
Disney's film became the fifth-highest Memorial Day debut after it topped “X-Men: Days of Future Past." The latter film came out in 2014 at $110.4 million.
Projections for "Aladdin" were $75 million to $85 million.
