Airline passengers now can use the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport's Web site, www.sgf-branson-airport.com, to check their flight information before they leave home. Sherry Wallace, director of marketing and communications for the airport, said real-time flight information is available on the Web site by clicking the arrivals or departures buttons.
"It's great, because it gives you the ability to check your flight status (each day) ... and get up-to-the-minute information. It is connected directly to the airlines, and as they know that your flight is delayed or not delayed, they enter it and it instantly pops up on our Web site," Wallace said.
Wallace added that the real-time flight information online is a nice addition for airline customers, because in the past, they had to call the airlines directly to find out flight information, and often, that meant being put on hold. But she said the airport already has received positive feedback for offering updated flight information online. The real-time flight information also is posted on the all-plasma display boards at the airport.
"One of the reasons we went with that technology is so we would be able to offer this little bit of extra convenience to the passengers," she said. Wallace noted that information is posted only for each day's flights, so airline passengers can't check flights several days in advance.
