Airline complaints falling

The U.S. Department of Transportation reported yesterday airline complaints fell 12 percent during the first half of the year.

For the six months ended June 30, the department received  8,376 complaints from consumers about airlines, down from 9,542 in the same time period of 2015.

Low-fare carrier Spirit Airlines had the most complaints, at 8.3 per 100,000 enplanements, followed by Frontier Airlines and American Airlines.
