Airbus on course to overtake Boeing as largest plane maker

Airbus is on track to overtake Boeing as the world's largest plane maker.

Boeing delivered 239 commercial planes during the first half of the year, down from 378 during the same time period of 2018. The company has struggled following recent deadly crashes involving its 737 Max jet.

Airbus reported 389 plane deliveries in the first half of the year, a 28% increase. It's on course to deliver a record number of planes this year and overtake Boeing for the first time in seven years.
