Airbnb restrictions shot down in San Francisco vote

San Francisco residents yesterday voted against tighter restrictions on short-term vacation rentals, in a major victory for Airbnb.

The measure was voted down 55 percent to 45 percent.

The ballot issue, dubbed Proposition F, would have limited short-term rentals to 75 days a year. The limit will stay at 90 days if the primary resident isn't present, or unlimited if the home is occupied by the host at the same time.
