Air Canada announced this week that CEO Michael Rousseau plans to retire from the company by the end of the third quarter.
Rousseau, 68, was recently criticized for his English-only message of condolence following March's deadly crash in New York. Canada’s largest airline, Air Canada is based in French-speaking Quebec.
“It is essential that the next CEO of Air Canada is bilingual,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said.
