Air ambulance expansion carries statewide implications

Posted online
A southeast Missouri expansion announcement by Air Medical Group Holdings carries statewide implications.

The Lewisville, Texas-based holding company plans to expand its Air Evac Lifeteam operations in West Plains to the tune of a $1.4 million capital investment, according to a news release.

The project would construct a new 40,000-square-foot building and consolidate area employees - currently about 300 workers operate in four buildings in the West Plains area - to one location. The expansion is expected to create 20 additional jobs.

Air Evac Lifeteam's air ambulance base will be relocated adjacent to the facility. The air ambulance operator services more than 66 Missouri counties, stretching near Marshfield to the northwest and near Branson to the west of its spectrum, according to LifeTeam.net.

Air Medical Group Holdings operates in 31 states; the Air Evac Lifeteam headquarters is located in O'Fallon.
