Assemblies of God Credit Union closed two weeks ago on the purchase of the building housing Springfield Office Supply, according to listing agent Gregg Stancer of Nixa-based Gregg Stancer Realty.
Springfield Office Supply, owned by Bill Abbott, is now leasing back 10,000 square feet of the 25,000-square-foot building, Stancer said. He noted the sale of the 2137 W. Kingsley St. building closed slightly below its asking price of $1.6 million.
Stancer said Springfield Office Supply, which originally had planned to relocate after selling the building, is occupying space on the northern side of the building facing James River Freeway.
AGCU is using the remaining 15,000 square feet on the southern-facing portion of the building largely for a new call center, as well as for warehouse storage space, AGCU President Paul Ebisch said.
"We continue to grow nationwide serving churches," Ebisch said of the need for the additional square footage. "In the past 12 months, we've grown from 43 employees to 60."
Ebisch declined to disclose the lease rate for Springfield Office Supply's portion of the building.
