Aetna reported quarterly net income of $838 million, up from $604 million at the same time last year.
Revenue was $15 billion, down from $15.8 billion in third-quarter 2016.
The company also increased its full-year earnings projections to $5.95 per share. The company previously predicted earnings to be $5.46 to $5.56 per share.
