Description: Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for renovations to Mid-Continent Public Library's north Independence branch, designed by Sapp Design Associates Architects PC. Mettemeyer Engineering LLC is the structural engineer. Interior upgrades to the 46,000-square-foot facility will include two public meeting rooms, a bistro and separate areas for reading and computers and adult, young adult and children's literature. A new lighting system with energy-efficient fixtures is included, and the HVAC system is being replaced with a more efficient unit. A drive-up window and entry canopy also will be added.
