Adobe Systems Inc. is in talks to purchase privately held cloud-based marketing software company Marketo Inc., people familiar with the matter told Reuters.
With the purchase, the maker of image-editing software Photoshop could better take on Microsoft and Oracle in the cloud space.
Vista Equity Partners Management LLC two years ago took Marketo private in a $1.8 billion deal.
