Adobe counters ransomware attacks

Adobe yesterday issued an emergency update to its Flash software for Internet browsers to counter a security flaw that was being exploited to deliver ransomware to Windows PCs.

The company is asking the over 1 billion users of Flash to update as soon as possible to negate the risk.

Ransomware encrypts data, locking up computers, then demands payments that often range from $200 to $600 to unlock each infected PC.
