Adam Brown’s life is kind of like one big party.

Brown is a rising star in the entertainment business as vice president for Amberg Entertainment.

A graphic design graduate of Drury University, Brown is responsible for sales, marketing and public relations for the company.

“I take care of even the smallest details, from wristbands to electricity and anything else the customer desires,” Brown said. “Dancing monkey? Just ask. Helicopter rides? Not a problem. Fire breathers? Simple. Elvis impersonator? I’ll give you three to choose from.”

Brown started with Amberg Entertainment six years ago and has since been instrumental in transforming the business into a multimillion-dollar company with offices in three states.

Brown said his boss, Ted Amberg, a 2005 40 Under 40 honoree, has been his mentor in his career.

“Ted Amberg has always told me, ‘Customers are not always right, but you better treat them like they are,’” said Brown. “I think it is a much better mantra than the classic version. That’s right, I said it: customers are wrong sometimes.”

And when faced with difficult decisions, Brown turns to a reliable source. “The Magic 8-Ball hasn’t worked for me, so I typically go to my family,” he said. “As I get stressed, the advice of my grandparents always seems to ring true, ‘Take one day at a time and always eat your vegetables.’ I’m not sure why, but it works in business, too.”

Brown said he considers it a pleasure to be a part of Springfield’s business community, and he plans to continue to do his part to improve on it. Brown has personally donated time to Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, The Kitchen and tutoring underprivileged children.

What book(s) do you currently have open? I am currently reading “The DaVinci Code” by Dan Brown and “Chariots of the Gods” by Eric VanDaniken.

What are some stocks that you watch? Hmmm. I like chicken and beef stocks. Fish and vegetable stocks tend to be too weak for me. Boy, soup sounds good right now. Honestly, at 25, my 401(k) is pretty diversified and I am a long-term investor, so I don’t watch my stocks very closely – but I do like soup. [[In-content Ad]]
