Springfield-based Abacus CPAs LLC announced a nearly $500,000 investment to increase pay companywide.
All professional, technical and administrative staff are impacted, according to a news release. Each staff member will receive a minimum 15% raise from their base pay in the past eight months, company officials say.
“Our exceptional people make the difference in our firm and ultimately for our clients.” said Bill Dunton, managing partner, in the release. “We want to continue our market leadership as an entrepreneurial-minded accounting firm, and we know our people are our most important asset."
The pay hikes add to the firm's incentive pay program, which increases employee earnings by 20% per year above base pay, 401(k) matches of 4% and profit sharing of 2%.
Abacus ranked No. 4 on Springfield Business Journal's 2021 list of the area's largest certified public accounting firms. The company reported 20 CPAs, two partners and 95 staff members for the list published in September.
