A Walk in the Park

Improvements to Reed-LaFayette School Park, along with the Atlantic Street Streetscape project, are complete, and the city celebrated at a Dec. 11 dedication ceremony in the park. Festivities included a performance by the Reed Middle School choir, conducted by Nathan Cornelius, and a presentation by Springfield-Greene County Parks Department Director Jodie Adams. The $130,000 project – a collaborative effort between the city, parks department, Springfield Public Schools and the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association – was funded from the city’s 1/4-cent capital improvements sales tax.
