The Springfield-based Schneider Foundation, which supports educational and youth causes, has issued $875,000 in grants.
The award recipients were selected during the charitable foundation's June 20 annual board meeting, according to a news release. The foundation, which was founded by the late Henry Schneider, has issued more than $7.7 million in grants since its inception in 1989.
The grant recipients are as follows:
• $270,000, Foundation for Springfield Public Schools
• $250,000, The Summit Preparatory School
• $130,000, Drury University's Center for Gifted Education Summerscape and Leadership Academy
• $40,000, The Ozark Science and Engineering Fair, care of Missouri State University
• $36,000, TRIO Upward Bound, care of MSU
• $35,000, Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield
• $30,000, Springfield Symphony Orchestra
• $25,000, Discovery School at the Center
• $25,000, Springfield-Greene County Library District
• $20,000, Springfield Youth Symphony
• $14,000, CASA of Southwest Missouri
