Posted online
The U.S. Court of Appeals yesterday upheld a $765 million concussion settlement by the National Football League.

After two years of negotiations, the settlement compensates more than 20,000 retired players for head injuries over the next 65 years, according to Bloomberg Business.

Retirees suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, will receive cash as part of the deal.

Families of players who died as a result of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, before the deal was finalized will receive up to $4 million each.
