Development is booming in Branson, where some $300 million in new investments will hit the market this year.
Scheduled to open tomorrow is the $5 million Branson Mountain Adventure Park, according to a news release.
The park’s key attraction is The Runaway, billed as the area’s first mountain coaster.
The 4,900-foot long coaster designed and built by Cohoes, N.Y.-based Aquatic Development Group Inc. utilizes a nearly 400-foot natural slope on hills adjacent to Fall Creek. The ride lasts 7-8 minutes, reaches an elevation of 330 feet and has two elevated 360-degree horizontal loops. One passenger can control the speed of the cart depending on the desired effect, according to the release.
Branson Mountain Adventure Park, 935 State Highway 165, includes a ticket office and gift shop as well as a launch zone for 40 coaster carts.
Master Construction & Co. LLC served as general contractor for the project designed by General Design Inc.
Other projects in the $300 million Branson investment pipeline include the Branson Ferris Wheel, which opened in June, the $80 million Spirit of 76 streetscape project and Ballparks of America, a $20 million youth baseball complex that launched in July.
