Downtown and city officials celebrate the completion of the Patton Alley Streetscape Project, between Walnut and McDaniel streets, at a Jan. 10 ribbon-cutting in front of Patton Alley Pub, 313 S. Patton Ave. Funding for the $243,000 project came from the quarter-cent capital improvements sales tax and local business owners. Improvements include more than 43,000 brick pavers, decorative sidewalks and streetscape lighting. Springfield Public Works conducted engineering services while Hunter, Chase & Associates was general contractor.

Just across the street from Patton Alley Pub, Eric Zackrison and Scott Tillman Jan. 10 cut the ribbon for Hickok's Steakhouse and Brewery, located at 314 S. Patton Ave., at the back of the old Mansfield Opera House.
