40 Under 40 Alumni Spotlight: Robin Rees, 2008

Posted online

Then: Assistant vice president of marketing, Peoples Bank of the Ozarks
Now: Vice president and Community Reinvestment Act officer, OMB Bank

When Robin Rees was honored in 2008, she was in marketing. A decade later, she shifted to the role of Community Reinvestment Act officer. And just last year, Rees joined the OMB Bank team.

“My transition from marketing to compliance was not anything I was looking for, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it,” she says. “Even moving institutions – I really surprised myself with that one.”

Rees says OMB already feels like home.

“I love the team,” she says. “They’re a group of smart bankers who help each other.”

Rees, 51, volunteers with AIDS Project of the Ozarks and Least of These food pantry in Christian County, as well as serving on the advisory board of Project Birthday Bag, which provides gifts and party items for children.

“We get those to the parents or guardians so the kids aren’t aware they’re coming from an organization,” she says. “Then they get to have a little birthday party for the kiddos.”

Advice to young professionals? Don’t get settled. When new opportunities come your way, really consider them.
