$40 to park? Ballpark Village ups ante for playoffs

Posted online
If St. Louis Cardinals fans are willing to pay hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for post-season tickets, what's a little extra for parking, right?

Ballpark Village, directly north of Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis, has upped its game-time parking price to $40 per car – and has consistently sold out during this post season. Parking attendant Kurt Heitmeyer spoke with the St. Louis Business Journal about the hike.

“The price for parking is variable, depending on who is playing,” he said. “Today, it’s $40, which is the highest I’ve seen it. When the Cubs are in town, it’s usually $30 to $35. The lowest I’ve seen is $20, when we played Baltimore.”

Prices at other garages in the area range from $10 to $25, but are located farther away than Ballpark Village.
