4 ways to protect yourself from credit card fraud

In 2017, credit card fraud was the largest type of identity theft in the United States, with over 133,000 reported cases, according to the Federal Trade Commission.

Trevor Buxton, fraud communications manager at PNC Bank, has four ways to protect yourself from credit card fraud.

1. Check your credit card activity daily.

2. Use secure payment methods, such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.

3. Enable fraud alerts to be aware of suspicious activity.

4. Use credit cards, not debit cards.
