3M's sales dip 2.2%

Diversified manufacturer 3M reported a 2.2 percent decrease in quarterly revenue.

Sluggish economic growth in emerging markets, including China, hurt the company's demand. A strong dollar also eroded the value of sales outside the United States, according to Reuters.

The maker of Post-it notes, adhesives and abrasives posted revenue of $7.4 billion, down from $7.6 billion in the first quarter of 2015.

Net income moved up to $1.3 billion from $1.2 billion.
