U.S. industrial conglomerate 3M Co. set a 2025 deadline to stop using "forever chemicals."
The so-called forever chemicals, perfluoralkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, have been linked to cancer, heart problems and low birth weights. They can be found in dangerous concentrations in drinking water, soil and food.
The move by 3M is expected to cost the company up to $2.3 billion.
