35 charged with trafficking cigarettes, drugs out of Missouri

Three dozen people from six states have been indicted in Missouri on felony charges.

The 35 defendants allegedly bought contraband cigarettes in St. Louis and sold them in Illinois and New Jersey.

The defendants also are accused of selling synthetic drugs.

The money was allegedly laundered through accounts of convenience stores many of the defendants owned or operated.
