$30M Margaritaville resort coming to Branson

Posted online

A Margaritaville resort is making its way to Branson.

The development is a $30 million project, said Lily Love of Vietti Marketing Group, speaking on behalf of MRG Development. She said the resort, called Margaritaville Vacation Suites Branson, takes over the former Red Lion Inn & Suites at 1420 W. 76 Country Blvd.

The property has been gutted as part of the construction process, Love said. Phase 1 of the project is slated for completion by year’s end, said Amy Hemphill, sales coordinator with MRG Development.

Margaritaville Vacation Suites Branson will have 76 one-bedroom suites and 25 two-bedroom suites, according to a news release. Designed for extended stays, the suites are available for ownership starting at $219,000 for one-bedroom and $339,900 for two-bedroom units. Owners of the units can put them into a rental pool for use by the general public, said Love.

“We are excited to introduce Margaritaville Vacation Suites to Branson, delivering a product that blends lifestyle, location and accessibility,” said Mark Mathes of MRG Development, in the release. “This project brings a fresh, modern hospitality experience to the Strip while giving buyers the opportunity to own a piece of a brand they already know and love."

Granite Construction is serving as general contractor for the development, which will employ approximately 50 people, Hemphill said.

The Margaritaville brand has more than 40 lodging locations and over 20 projects in the pipeline, the release states. Existing locations near Branson include Osage Beach and Kansas City, Kansas, according to the company website.
