3 former US officials charged in UAE hacking scheme

Three former U.S. intelligence and military officials have been charged in a hacking scheme involving United Arab Emirates.

The defendants, Marc Baier, Ryan Adams and Daniel Gericke, allegedly provided hacking and intelligence-gathering systems to a UAE-based company that conducted hacking operations on behalf of the government.

The defendants agreed to pay nearly $1.7 million as part of the guilty plea.
