Starting as an intern at Victory Mission & Ministry in 2018, Mindy McDonald, 27, has since risen the nonprofit’s ranks, where she now serves as its associate executive director.
McDonald was promoted from marketing and advancement director in 2025 and oversees funding streams ranging from daily operations to aiding a $22 million project that will replace its over 70-year-old men’s shelter with a new facility at 1610 N. Broadway Ave.
“My work now focuses on stewarding resources wisely by expanding funding sources, including more social enterprises that generate earned income while creating job training opportunities for people in our programs who are reentering the workforce,” she says.
Beyond Victory Mission, McDonald is director of public relations for Rotaract Club of Springfield and says she is next set to become the group’s president-elect.
