Izzy Callison, director of marketing for Storm Restorations Corp., is a marketing leader who aims to achieve national reach. But Callison, 32, is also a former small-business owner of Callison Creative LLC.
“In marketing, there is a general consensus that the job is to spend money and make as big of a splash as possible,” she says. “One way that I show leadership in my organization is by always having the mindset of an owner – analyzing each decision, each swipe of the card, and ensuring that we’re making the biggest splash possible in the appropriate pool.”
The ripple effect echoes through the entire organization, she says.
“I always ask ‘why’ to ensure that we aren’t doing things because that’s the way it’s always been done, but because it’s the right thing to do for our company and our customers,” she says.
