In only five years at Mercy Springfield Communities, Brock Hughes, 28, climbed from being a clinic administration intern to director of operations for Strategy and Operations Excellence in 2024. He also served as practice manager for the pain management department and at MSU Care Clinic, expanding care access for vulnerable populations. His civic service includes being on the boards for Ozarks Alliance to End Homelessness, Better Block SGF and Healthcare to Housing Coalition and mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks.
“While health care in our country has room for improvement, its impact on individuals and communities is undeniable,” he says. “Knowing this and envisioning a healthier, flourishing future for our community is what gets me up every day and motivates the work I do.”
