Architect and designer: Kinetic Design and Development LLC
Kinetic Design and Development LLC’s new digs in Chesterfield Village have a cozy industrial feel. Exposed ceilings, wood furnishings and pops of teal and orange – the architecture firm’s signature colors – catch the eye in the open-layout office.
“We wanted something obviously modern and tech forward, but also still really warm and a fun environment for our clients to feel welcomed in but also our staff to feel really at home,” says architect and partner Abbye Bobbett of the space at 2215 W. Chesterfield Blvd., Ste. 1.
The just over two-year old firm purchased the building last year with Sanders, Myers & Blackwell CPAs LLP through real estate holding company Tenedor Pesado LLC. Meaning “heavy fork” in Spanish, the name is a nod to the world’s heaviest fork, which stands at the entrance to the firm’s first floor office. Bobbett says it draws daily visitors.
A few spaces still in development are design and innovation labs. The design lab features flooring samples, paint chips and wood tones for clients to see up close. “Our interior designers are integrated in with our architecture team,” says Dane Benton, the firm’s director of marketing.
The innovation lab has a 3D printer to help the team bring projects to life before even breaking ground. “It’s been fun to see our designers get that creative outlet,” Bobbett says.
A focus room sits off the design lab. The closed-door office is open for anyone to reserve and doubles as a mother’s nursing room.
There’s a buzz about the office; one can almost feel the work that’s happening.
