Carnahan Evans PC

Posted online

Acting on a passion to help people in her community, Alexandra Henson is building her legal career in the Queen City.

Henson, 33, is an associate attorney at Carnahan Evans PC, where she began a year ago. That was preceded by several years of work for employers such as the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

After graduating from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2016, Henson moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked on Capitol Hill in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, including a year as legislative correspondent the staff of recently retired Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt.

Her community involvement includes serving on boards for Friends of the Zoo, Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation and Burrell Behavioral Health.

Your first job? Working at NewStream Enterprises back in high school. My first grown-up job after law school was lobbying for John Deere in Washington, D.C.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.

Favorite book? The Harry Potter series.  Whenever I’m without something else to read, I listen to them over and over on Audible.

Favorite local food/drink order? The dinner salad or the vegetarian club from Nearly Famous Deli. I could eat either one every day of my life.
