When it came to designing a new office for the 119-year-old law practice, Neale & Newman Administrator Shannon Cape says the goal was to maintain the firm’s roots while looking forward.

“Since we’ve been around since 1903, I wanted it to feel old and established but also modern,” he says.

The 11,090-square-foot office spans part of the third and fourth floors at 2144 E. Republic Road, Ste. F302, in Farmers Park and serves 45 attorneys and staff.

Inspiration came from downtown’s Hotel Vandivort. Cape says he was drawn to the mix of brick, wood and metal that created a rich color scheme and felt inviting. He chaired the design committee with Partner Judson Poppen, and the two spent seven months collaborating with design professionals before the team relocated in March 2020.

The result is a careful mix of dark colors, textures and materials that are lightened by large windows and plenty of glass
