GATHERING SPACE: The 22-seat table primarily used for board of directors’ meetings is a considerable step up from the space used for the same purpose at the former headquarters, officials say. “It was in this little bitty room,” Lawler says. “They outgrew the table, so we had card tables and other tables brought in.” The new space also includes a full kitchen and has large windows that look out to the west toward Sam’s Club.

Previously aiming to relocate its headquarters in summer 2021, Multipli Credit Union officials say they had to endure supply chain delays before moving in the spring to a new multistory building in southeast Springfield.

The credit union fills roughly 75% of the 40,000 square feet at 1850 S. Blackman Road, with the remainder available for lease. It also serves as Multipli’s third full-service branch, housing its commercial and mortgage lending departments and back-office operations. Aside from four on-site interactive teller machines for customer access, Multipli’s space includes conference rooms, a board room, training area and rooftop patio access for employees to eat, meet or relax. The building also features a basement level with underground parking.

The new space features several shades of blue and green on the walls and floors to incorporate colors from the company’s logo, officials say.
