YOUR BUSINESS AUTHORITY
Springfield, MO
Then: Attorney, Lathrop Gage LLP
Now: Associate Circuit Court Judge, Greene County; Co-owner, Float Trip Pickles LLC
Though his title has changed, Jerry Harmison is still following his boyhood dream of working in law.
In fall 2017, Harmison left his private practice formed in 2003, Harmison & Pearman PC, to take the bench as a judge in Greene County. He had practiced law for three decades and saw the opportunity to “stay within the law, be challenged with something new and yet be involved with some aspect of giving back”
The longtime Springfield resident and volunteer says being a judge has shown him a different side of the city.
“I inherited 6,000 pending criminal cases,” Harmison says. “I now am one of the judges that, on a daily basis, must decide what type of punishment is fair and equitable.”
Outside of the courtroom, he owns Float Trip Pickles with his daughter, Jessica, and his former law partner, Greg Pearman.
