Attorney Lindsey Lund made short work of becoming partner. Four years into joining Husch Blackwell LLP, Lund reached her milestone goal this year. As a transactional real estate attorney, she brought with her national clientele. Work includes a multibillion-dollar outdoor sporting goods retailer’s anchor tenant leases and an industrial real estate investment trust’s recent $189 million acquisition of six properties. Lund serves in Husch Blackwell’s executive recruiting and in-house Retail Industry Institute, as well as a key role of liaison between associates and partners. She also completed the Husch Blackwell University, a professional development program in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis.
When did you realize you had grown up? I went straight from high school to college, and from college to law school. I started my first real, full-time job in the fall after law school graduation. So the first time Christmas came around and there was no extended winter break, I felt like an adult with a career for the first time.
What was your professional aha moment? When a senior partner walked into my office to brainstorm on a particular matter, and I realized that I actually already knew the answer.
What do you miss most about the 1990s? Keyrock, the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer.
What about your job would shock clients? I hate billing them in six-minute increments as much as – or more than – they hate it.
